Stefan Petkov

Here you are supposed to see a cheerful, warm yet intelligent photo of me.

I am a philosopher of science working at Beijing Normal University. Prior to that I was a post doctoral fellow at Tsighua University. Even prior to that I was a PhD at the Bulgarian Academy of Science, but for a full list of my academic endavours please refer to my CV.

My primary acadmic interest is general philosophy of science. I have done work on theories of explanations, contradictions in science, and scientific understanding. Currently I am trying to gain some footing in philosophy of mind and cognitive science.

I have published in some nice journals such as Synthese, Biology & Philosophy, and Journal for General Philosophy of Science, among others. For a full list of my successful (and yet to be succesful) publications please visit my Academic Publications page.

Beside these I enjoy writing exceedingly bad poetry and prose.

I am also an avid rock climber and a Wing Chun practitioner.
